Tips on Organizing a Last-Minute Oct. 15th Event:
- Plan a balloon release at a local park or church. Make sure you get permission to use the location before telling people about your event. You’ll want to have balloons, helium, and notecards for writing messages on-hand at your event.
- Plan a candle-lighting service at a local park or church. Have people say a few words about their child(ren), read a poem, etc, and then light a candle in their honor. You’ll want to have candles and lighters on-hand at your event.
- To publicize your event: Move fast! You can let us know about your event by emailing the details (time, place, description to [email protected]), put up fliers at local businesses, or call news stations/papers and ask them to mention something on-air or in-print.
